I have been interested in computers and IT since 1990 when I started programming on 8-bit computers based on CP-M. I was interested especially in elementary economic applications (e.g. tally of properties, invoices, transactions etc.) written in dbase 2.0. In 1991 I proceeded to PC with Fox Base and FoxPRO.
Thanks to my computer literacy I could attend high school practice in engineering company ZPS, where I was working in team which was responsible for operation of new manufacturing information system running on mainframe by IBM. Then I started my interest in computer networks. Thanks to my education I am also experienced in CAD systems and programming of NC machines.
New version of MS Windows 3.1 brought an important change when I have known CorelDRAW and Aldus PageMaker. Since that time I have been more interested in desktop publishing. I have began with black and white applications but later I was able to work with CMYK colour documents.
After my school-leaving examination in 1993 I started studying at the College of economy, branch marketing, and the College of commercial justice. And whole that time I was working with computers especially in promotional creation. During my studying Internet has also come and I was one of the first users. One of my dissertations was about utilization of Internet in company ZPS and application in marketing.
After graduation I have come in company Axiom, one of the largest independent IT companies in the Czech republic, to position of marketing manager. The firm was offering complete computer services in areas: network, CAD (Autodesk, EDS Unigraphics), document management and workflow, DTP, information system Navision and repairing of HP products; was dealing with Hewlett-Packard (Authorized Dealer) and Iomega (then exclusive distributor) and had about 120 employees. I was responsible for all marketing communications like advertising, trade fairs, public relations, web design etc. In few month I have elevated to position of assistant of director when I was furthermore accountable for debt enforcement, preparation of agreements and co-ordination of some projects with departments. I have also participated on selling of DTP equipment (large format inkjet plotters, cutting plotters, RIPs, scanners, software etc) and Internet services.
After one year in employment I have established company Innovate with my long-standing colleague. Our company was interested in DTP, computer services, production, import and distribution of textiles. Our most important orders was making of users manuals for cars (Mazda and Daimler Chrysler) and electronics (Psion, Pace etc.). We have had 15 employees and selling team with more than 800 dealers. My main mission was managing of the firm, but I was integrated to all activities. My important job was also administration of the information system and development of new superstructures (e-mail and GSM messaging, logistic system, remuneration system). In 2002 I sold my share.
Thanks to my long time experience I have got strong skills with complete pre-press processing: scanning on common flat and drum scanners, creating of vector and bitmap images, text processing, printing of Postscript and PDF files, large format printing and cutting on plotters. I may prepare all materials for offset and silk-screen printing.
I have got also high ability in building and administration of computer network (LAN as well WAN). Since my studying I have been going in for Internet. I have got elementary knowledge about Novell NetWare and UNIX but I am advanced in network applications running on MS Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP) and BackOffice or Apache. Foregone conclusion is a configuration of hubs, switches, modems (also ISDN adapters), micro print servers, proxy servers and network administration. I have got also practice in phone system managing and programming (switchboards 2N, Panasonic, Alcatel), fax sharing etc. Thanks to my graphics knowledge I am also able to manage web site; I know HTML programming, Java scripting and PHP.
